Frequently Asked Questions About Orthopaedic Care
Can my insurance be used for an outpatient consultation?
At our Mount E Novena Clinic and Parkway East Clinic, both corporate and personal insurance can be utilised. Please enquire in our clinic about cashless consultation.
Is it important to have a panel specialist treat you?
Yes. Being treated by a panel specialist at an orthopaedic clinic in Singapore would mean that you will have a longer follow-up period, seamless pre-authorisation, and expeditious settlement of your post-operative claims, including post-op physiotherapy claims.
What can I expect during a consultation?
A specialist orthopaedic doctor will make a professional diagnosis and order appropriate investigations based on symptoms and physical findings. Following which, non surgical options like physiotherapy or injections will be discussed. Following relevant investigations and discussion, surgery may be recommended on some occasions.
What are the steps necessary for surgery? / How should I prepare for surgery?
You will be guided through the process of surgery. This would entail confirming a hospital or day surgery centre for your surgery, obtaining the pre-authorisation, and performing the relevant anaesthetic check-ups. You will need to inform us of your insurance details and your preferred schedule for surgery.
Can most of the surgeries be day surgeries?
Majority of the orthopaedic surgeries are performed as day surgeries. Full insurance claims can still be done.
