Our Doctor

Dr Kannan is an experienced sub-specialist for Foot & Ankle disorders and surgery in Singapore & the region. He was selected by the Ministry of Health (Singapore) to receive a HMDP scholarship to further his subspecialty fellowship training in Foot and Ankle Surgery in Switzerland and in the Netherlands where he trained in the field of lower limb reconstructive surgery with special emphasis on Foot and Ankle Reconstruction.

 

Prior to joining the private sector, Dr Kannan was appointed Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. It was in TTSH that he helped to start the Foot & Ankle Division for Orthopaedic Department. He led the Foot and Ankle Division to spearhead and organised the First Regional Foot & Ankle Athroscopy course for surgeons in ASEAN region.

A patient’s initial consultation is crucial for our doctor to understand the medical history and to assess a patient’s medical condition. As such, there will be a discussion at length on the diagnosed medical condition. This would include an explanation of the recommended course of treatment based and the projected rehabilitation process involved. For some chronic conditions, the doctor would need to perform an examination and order for some tests in order for a clearer understanding.
On your first visit, bring along a copy of your identification document for registration. If you have been evaluated previously for the condition, or any related condition, please bring the necessary reports or information with you on your first appointment: 
  • Medical records including surgery notes, if applicable
  • X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, nerve studies
  • List of medications that you are currently taking.
 If you are covered under insurance plans (corporate or personal), please bring along your any insurance card or details of your insurance coverage plan. This would allow our staff to counsel you on your coverage details. In terms of proper attire for your first consultation session, take note to be appropriately attired which allows for the area of lesions or injury to be accessed easily for proper medical examination and yet maintain the patient’s modesty.

We respect our patients’ time. In order to ensure ample time can be allocated to your consultation, we would recommend for patients to contact our clinic to make an appointment with our staff.
